Hi, my name is Nailea!I am currently studying in Arts and Theatre Management in Republic Polytechnic. I am previously from Events Management in ITE College East.I have always been facinated by learning and I spend most of my free time reading up on many different topics. One that stood out to the most is history. I value human connection in shared experience and I hope to bring this motif in whatever I create.

During my internship at Pico Singapore, I experienced first hand what it was like to plan and execute big scale events.I had the pleasure of working on several events, but I was primarily involved in ATX Summit Gala Dinner where I was Stage Manager. It was a very interesting experience and I managed to apply what I have learned in Republic Polytechnic.I was also entrusted with two overseas convention booths for Seatrium where I had to liase with both overseas vendors/carpenters and customer.Job scope:
1. Logistical Support
2.Processing of orders
3. Sourcing and Liaising with vendors
4. Doing up briefing decks
5. On-site support (Stage Manager/Logistics In-Charge)
6. Liaising with overseas contractors
Make-A-Wish changed my life when I was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. My wish of going to see Hamilton on Broadway showed me that there was a world out there for me to explore. This reminder gave me strength to continue with my studies and got me excited for my future.I wanted to give this feeling to my community so I interned at MAW during my time in ITE College East under Events Management.I played many roles during my time at MAW, most notability being able to reach out to my community directly.Job scope:
1. Logistical Support
2. On-grounds volunteer management
3. Hosting portions of the show
4. Data analysis and presentation
5. Sourcing and Liaising with vendor/space
6. Designing graphics
7. Designing collaterals
8. Liaising with caregivers
9. Designing care packages for beneficiaries
I run a small business on Instagram and Kofi under @tibbitrinkets.
It has garnered 1.4k followers. I frequently booth at events like Mercury Fest and Mad Market. I do everything from sourcing, making, marketing to customer support. The name comes from my father, who has always called snacks "tidbits". I wanted to invoke the same joy of buying snacks from the mamak shop downstairs as a kid, so I chose the name tibbitrinkets for my online shop/creative space. Although it is considered an online shop, the name a constant reminder for me to create things that fulfills my inner child and creative needs.

Electronics Super Cup: Campus Edition
Objective: plan an esports event that is taking place on campus. My team is the "event organisers" and we are given full creative liberty down to the games and marketing. After looking through survey results and advice from Zenway, we decided with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and EAFC Fifa 2025.
As the team leader, I was the shield when things went wrong.
Through planning and executing this event, I lived and learned the definition of Murphy's Law: Anything can go wrong, will go wrong. There were many miscommunications between other FYP groups and performer liaisons. I was able to think quick on my feet and move the programmed schedule around to allow a smooth flow of the event.Prior to the actual day, I lead my team with learned knowledge in the events industry. I was able to streamline and delegate work amongst the team depending on their strength. Through this, the workload was easier as we were able to divide and concur.I created an "Event Bible" where all the information the client or FYP teams would ever need is in one place, this minimises miscommunication. This was something I learned through experience as well. It was very useful in moments of high stress as we could all depend on the document.
What I have learned: number one
It is not what went wrong but how you overcome it.
During an event, there is no time to be angry or point fingers when the issue is right in front of you. Solving it is the only solution. On day 2 of the event, the band performing said they would only be able to perform until 5:30pm despite being scheduled at 7pm. They explained that the other FYP team have communicated to them that the event will be from 1pm to 5 pm.When I first heard this, I was furious as such a miscommunication could have been prevented if the other FYP team had double checked with us or look at the Event Bible as previously mentioned. However, I set that feeling aside and decided on moving the band forward so the programmed flow can still happen.Had I not have previous experience in events, I would not be able to stay calm and face the problem. It is definately something that I had to learn the hard way. Choosing to stay calm and solve the problem every time one arises proves that I have grown think quick on my feet.
What I have learned: number two
Learn to trust others.
I can only do so much. It is important that I trust my team members are able to do what was delegated to them. There is a line between leading and micro-managing. If there is no instance that leads me to distrust their skills set, then there is no need to interfere. It is as much their FYP as my FYP.However, this lesson really tested me while I was liaising with other FYP teams. After many miscommunications during the planning process, my trust in them dwindled. As much as I wanted to take over, I learned to let them handle it as it is also part of their job scope. I had prepared mentally to face the problems that might arise during the event day instead.
What I have learned: number three
Don't try and be a fortune teller.
It is good to be prepared, but being over prepared leads to inflexibility. It is definitely a habit of mine to have contingency plans as I worry during a moment of panic, I would not know what to do. However, this time around, I learned to trust myself that I would be able to stay calm in situations like this. And it worked, having no "safety net" forced me to face what is in front and solve it. I have proved to myself that I am more capable then I think.
